IN THE HOUSE

During a House Armed Services Committee hearing on Tuesday, I had the opportunity to discuss the grave threat the Chinese Communist Party poses-and the critical need for robust military investment to counter their growth.

The CCP has rapidly become a global military and economic power, and we must produce a military budget for the U.S. to compete. Watch our full exchange below:

HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK

Wednesday night, I joined Tucker Carlson Tonight on Fox News to bring national attention to the immigration crisis that has unfortunately made its way to Shreveport.

The U.S. has always been a benevolent country and we will continue to be that shining city upon a hill, but there are important limitations to our capacity as a safe harbor. This administration's mismanagement of the immigrant crisis is a failure of policy in Washington D.C., and it is terribly unfair for our local communities to bear the weight of Joe Biden's bad ideas.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT

I sent two urgent requests to the Biden Administration this week, both concerning issues of great importance to our congressional district.

On Tuesday, I wrote a letter to President Biden demanding answers regarding their decision to drop off busloads of Haitian migrants in Shreveport without notifying local officials.

On Thursday, I wrote another letter to President Biden requesting that they solve the gross underfunding of law enforcement by redirecting money from the $1.9 trillion bailout legislation to our local police departments. We must invest in our law enforcement officers as our communities return to form.
