IN THE HOUSE

Great news for SW Louisiana! On Wednesday, the House passed my bill, the Save the Liberty Theatre Act by a wide bipartisan margin.

The Liberty Theatre has been a staple of Louisiana's Cajun community for nearly a century, hosted famed Cajun musicians, and served as an important center of Louisiana culture and tourism. With a proper restoration, this special landmark can be enjoyed for generations to come. I commend the House for passing this bill with a wide bipartisan vote and look forward to its consideration before the Senate.

On Wednesday morning, both the House and Senate convened for a rare joint session of Congress to hear directly from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who delivered a moving address. The United States Congress should provide the necessary weapons and aid to Ukraine as they fight to secure their sovereignty.

Congrats to the women's teams from Northwood Lena and Hicks High and the men's team from Gibsland-Coleman High. You make us proud!
